What Do You Want?

What Do You Want?

Sounds like a simple question, BUT . . .

Do you even know what you REALLY want?

I love this quote from Abraham Hicks

“When you know what you want, you are a vibrational match to it and therefore, it is.”

How often do you check in with yourself to see if what you think you want is still what you want?

All successful people have things in common and that includes the following:

  1. They KNOW for sure, in their heart what they want.
  2. They KNOW this because they spend enough time in silence to listen to their heart.
  3. They reassess what their heart wants on a regular basis.

If it’s been awhile since you got quiet enough to hear your heart . . .

[Tweet “Try my top exercises for listening to your heart and your intuition.”]

Here are my top 3 exercises for listening to your heart:

  1. Grab your journal and sit alone, in silence for 1 HOUR. It will seem like an eternity, but it takes awhile to get out of your head and into your heart. The heart whispers and the mind chatters. Spend enough time to get past the thoughts.
  2. When you are journaling in silence, let go of ANY expectation or thinking you know what the heart will say. If you are looking for the heart to say something specific, you know you are still in the mind.
  3. Write down a list of 20 things you are pretty sure you want and 10 things you don’t think you want. Then journal on each item, explaining how you know FOR SURE you want this (or don’t want it). In other words, journal your “evidence” that what you’ve written is true.
  4. Then take those exact same lists and journal the evidence for the opposite belief. As an example, let’s say you know you want children. Once you’ve journaled your evidence or how you know you want children, write another list of evidence or how you know you don’t. With each list, be sure to write at least 20 reasons so you get past the things you habitually tell yourself and other.
  5. Walk away from your journal and don’t think about it for a week BUT notice if any of these thoughts pop into your head when you least expect. This is the heart talking.

Bonus Game: In particular, if you are trying to hear your heart in order to make a decision, try this game that a client named “The Hat Trick” Write down each of your two options on a separate piece of paper and put them in a hat. Draw a slip of paper and whatever you draw is what you will do. That’s it!

(Ok….I’m not saying you must do whatever you draw, but if you tell your mind that before you draw, the very second you open the piece of paper, you will KNOW what the heart feels about that option)

Take some time this weekend to get quiet and listen! Your heart may surprise you!
